2008 in first paragraphs
08 January 2009 12:50 pm
I have seen a couple of diaries that have done this already but it's a review of 2008 by sorting out the opening lines of each entry as we progressed into each new month.
Here is what happened in my year.
January: Matthew is picking up some bad habits, he had a mini computer for christmas and today he got stressed and shouted:
"Stupid Bloody Computer!!!!"
Febuary: It's been a while since I remembered a dream. Last night though I was just getting into a deep sleep when I woke up as bf turned over. (In this entry I put in my horoscopes which suggested "long awaited baby news" - within 2 weeks I conceived. hehehe)
March: Another far-too-short weekend disappears before my eyes.
We begin with Friday night out with friends.
I haven't been in the mood to drink recently but on a social event I did manage to consume 5 large glasses of wine. It's the last time I'll be doing that for quite some time I think. (I was beginning to suspect I was pregnant around this time so hence the I'm not drinking again for some time comment)
April: Me and bf had a rare night out together with Matthew at my mums for the night when we attended a "farewell" party to our friend Gareth who flew out to Afghanistan on Sunday evening.(Then there was a link to my pregnancy diary in that entry.)
May: I got home as planned on Friday after a little trouble with traffic causing a delay. Nothing like missing a plane like we did last holiday, :) however I've just been too busy to update.
June: Blame the pregnancy hormones again but yesterday I found myself feeling very sentimental.
July: I thought I would do something different today so here are a few completely random things that you may not have known about me.
1. I have an unnatural fear to drive a car. Almost like being drive-ophobic.
August: Bf came home from Weston Super Mare on Wednesday. Thursday was a not too special day though we did get out to visit bfs mum for part of the day. Our town was hit by a freak rain storm which we were out in. Luckily we were in the car but I think the car recieved a little water damage as it began to make funny noises on the way home. We also saw a big fire about 5 minutes drive from our home. It made local news as it was an arson attack on a local travellers site.
September: So my little man started school yesterday. He was up at exactly the same time I woke up and got ready really well.
He was the second one through the door as he was so eager and immediately found his storage drawer to keep his sun hat and book bag in.
He came out just as bouncy as he went in.
October: I think we have gone a few days with no major purchases for the house or the impending new human in the house. But we have booked a weekend break to Butlins in February and paid off a few bills.
November: I thought I would pop my head in and say hi as I have a few moments to spare. It's been the most eventful weekend of the year for certain.
Today, November 4th is my estimated due date.
However, young James decided he would arrive early Saturday morning.
December: For the last week or so, Matthew has been talking alot about his schoolfriend Kyle's birthday party. Kyle invited him and Matthew really wanted to go.
Knowing what kids can be like, bf and myself have been very wary of what we say on this. Kyle seems a nice kid but we have an unwritten rule of the house regarding kids parties.
If it's not on paper, then it's not a proper invite.
That was my year in brief.
