Possible New Car On The Cards
26 March 2009 4:25 pm
Matthew was fine and back to school as normal on Tuesday as I suspected he would be. I think he just had an overactive weekend and it is something we always try to avoid but it's not always easy.
Mothers day on Sunday was lovely. Matthew had made me a little card at school. It was a finger painting of red and yellow flowers on a green background and he seemed so pleased with it. His dad sent me a card as he always does and bf got me a huge card from the 3 kids. That sounds sooooooooooooo strange considering ths time last year I was coming round to the idea of being a mum of 2, now I'm going to be a mum of 3!!! I love it. I am really embracing this and I can't wait to have a whole little huddle of children. I did not actually get a present as I would rather wait a few weeks and pick some summer flowers for the garden to grow in pots than have something practical, a bunch of flowers or chocolates. I like to see what I am buying rather than get seeds and like to buy some already established plants.
We spent the day at bf's mums house. We called round to see my mum in the morning and gave her a card as she already had her present from us. Then we headed off to the other side of town. Bf's sister was visiting from Canterbury uni and his brother and sister in law visited from London so we had a big family dinner and didn't leave until fairly late. Bf's sister cooked dinner and I helped her with the washing up. It was nice to be out and sort of looked after so I thought it nice to help out as a guest. Matthew went for a walk to get some ice cream with bro and sister in law while bf and James entertained nanny. It was just as relaxing for me in a way. It's not very often we have quiet weekends but it looks like something I will get used to.
On Tuesday, bf started his new job. He is back to being a chef so weekends will be a little confused and he is quite likely to work much of a weekend but a rest will do myself and the boys good overall. Bf likes his job but is just happy that it's full time. It's looking good so far but he is in until the restaurant closes tonight and what with clearing down, I expect him to be at work until 10.30/11pm so I think this evening will drag but we do have his day off to look forward to tomorrow.
As he never starts before 11am (one of the joys of catering) we still have mornings free to do anything we need to.
This morning we were looking for a family friendly car. We found a LOVELY VW Passat at a local dealership. We don't know if we will make it for the finance deals but it looks like this and we both really liked it.

It is a 2005 model and in perfect condition with only 15,000 miles on the clock but it will set us back £7,500 (which from a proper VW dealership is good). We can afford the deposit and the monthly payments over 5 years as well as get part exchange on our own car if only we can get the credit we require. Just keeping fingers crossed as the economy is screwed and bf has been self employed for the last 4 years so that goes against us. If we don't get it, we'll look for a cheaper version through Autotrader or something so all will not be lost. We just need the extra room once we have 3 tots. :)
